Chaplain (Cpt) Dale Allen Goetz, Army, Grand Rapids, MN., 26 Sep 10



Over 60 of us came together for the Goetz Family in Grand Rapids on Sunday Sept 26, 2010 from the 4 corners of the State. A day you just could tell was very special to all involved -- beautiful sunshine and fall air you could taste When we arrived at the Church, one of the Church members ( at least they tell us ) had ordered 30 pizza's for us and had juice and coffee going for us ... alone with cookies and apple pie.

Everyone welcomed us like family -- so nice -- and where so very appreciative to go thru a flagline to get to the parking lot of the Church. Many said it just took their breath away and brought tears to their eyes.

The Grand Rapids Honor Guard walked the entire flagline shaking hands -- The Pastor and other members did also -- altho not sure how far they made it, with all they had to do.. Grand Rapids Fire Dept came with an aerial ladder truck and set up at the end of the flagline and raised a large flag 60 feet in the air. Awesome site!

Karla,Zots,Rob and I - presented Plaques and Coins to Christine and family -- somehow, at least for me, instead of showing her comfort, she comforted us, or at least me.

I wish I had the words to tell you folks, just how much this whole thing meant to the Family I wish I had the words to tell you folks , just how much you impacted the Friends of the Family, the Church Membership, the Fire Dept Members, the hundreds of vehicles that pasted the Church on the main road and had no idea what was going on, but asked. I am just so very proud of each and everyone - who came to show the Family the Honor, Dignity and Respect they so much deserve -- we gave them comfort in a time of need ! Thank You !
