Report

Eighteen Minnesota Patriot Guard Riders from at least four different sectors attending the mission on July 30th in Clarkfield, Mn, to bring home the spirit of F3 Kenneth Holm, a casualty of the torpedoing and sinking of the USS Oklahoma at Pearl Harbor. Survivor Herman Hinrichs was a special guest and speaker at the ceremony, along with Keynote Speaker Clark Dyrud, Commisioner, Mn Dept of Veteran's Affairs.

A ceremony was held in the Clarkfield gym, where the PGR was requested to form a corridor of flags for the Honor Guard to walk through at the beginning of the ceremony, and to exit through at the end. We maintained the flag line for the entire audience to walk through, then led the procession to the cemetery, where a headstone was unveiled and dedicated, with full military honors.

Navy veteran and Marshall Sector member Jim Holien and RC Alan Peterson presented the family of Kenneth Holm a Fallen Heroes patch, a Mn Patriot Gaurd patch, and a Mission Accomplished pin at the close of the ceremony.

A special thank you to Jeff Randall, the funeral director who worked hard and long to organize this special memorial ceremony, members of the Clarkfield police department and sheriff's deputies who provided traffic control, the ladies of the Lutheran Church in Clarkfield who served lemonade and cookies, and to the members of the Mn Patriot Guard who attended this mission.
