BG. John Cox, USA (RET), Ft. Snelling MN, 14 AUG 09

An estimated 125 PGR Members stood flag line honors today as Brigadier General John Cox was laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. After arriving at Staging at the FT Snelling Officers Club members were briefed on the Honors Mission for the Day. Once we arrived at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, they was a delay in the schedule as a military Fly-over was scheduled to be performed.

After a brief delay we proceeded to Shelter #4 and set our flag line. Given the outstanding turnout, we were able to cover the entire intersection and exit route the family would take with the Flag Line. Following the service, Minnesota Adjutant General Larry Shellito and Command Sergeant Major Scott Mills walked our entire flag line and thanked every member for showing there support today for the Life and Service of Brigadier General Cox.

As we were conducting our post mission briefing a gentlemen approached and informed me that the entire group was invited back to the Officers Club for Lunch and some much needed AC. Once we arrived, we were informed that Lunch had been paid for by a Officer's Club employee.

1 Note: We had one member suffer from the heat today. The member was placed in a vehicle with water and AC and eventually driven home after the mission. All is well.
