Private Tim (Timmy) Kaliszewski, age 52, US Army

This started out as not being your usual escort and flagline. After speaking with Tims step brother Glenn we decided to meet the family and the motorcyle hearse at the Menards in Maplewood. 30 PGR members where at the staging area when the family and hearse pulled in. After greeting the family we held a quick briefing and asked for some volunteers in the group that would go directly to the funeral home to get the flag line established before the hearse and escort arrived so we could keep the escort a manageble size and as usual half the group stepped up and volunteered. Glenn spoke a little about Tim and the route we would be taking to the funeral home. Tim loved to fish and was a bartender at Louie's Bar on Payne avenue. So our route would take us around lake Phalen first and then he told us not to worry when we pulled down this back alley because it took us by the bar that Tim worked at.We mounted up and left as a group and when the escort turned to go around the lake Larry Myslicki took the other half to the funeral home. The escort went very smoothly with Glenn leading the way followed by the hearse, Timm's family, and then our Patriot Guard members. When we pulled down the alley we where greeted by about 20 of his friends holding signs and cheering as we went by. After that it was a quick trip up Payne avenue to the funeral home where the flag line was waiting for us. We held our flag line for about an hour while the family and friends held a short service. Thank You to everyone for making this mission happen. Glenn and his family appreciated it very much.
