Craig Porter, US Army, Viet Nam Veteran, 14 Apr 10

32 Patriot Guard members attended the Short Notice Mission for Craig Porter today. At staging may discussions took place regarding having to shed layers as the day warmed up, but, mother nature cooled us off after we set the flag line, in a decent shower that came thru the family arrived at Shelter 2. After the Rifle Volley and presentation of the Flag, many members of the family made the rounds thru the line thanking each member that came to show Honor's to there lost loved one.

I want to thank the leadership that got the word out quickly on today's mission, it was extremely short notice but once again our members answered the call to show Honor to a veteran of Viet Nam.

Side Note:
As we arrived at the Shelter area there were numerous family members visiting the grave site of a recent fallen soldier. This soldier was lost at FT Hood recently during the shooting that took place. The famliy members mentioned that is was Xiong's Birthday today, and they were extremly pleased to see the MN PGR out to support another veteran that had passed on.

A huge Thank You goes out the our members that braved the Rain and weather today. Without members like you, the MNPGR would not exist.
