Clifford Rickhoff, USA Veteran, Aitkin, MN, 04 NOV 09

On a cool drizzly day we gathered in Aitkin to honor Clifford Rickhoff, a U.S. Army veteran of the 1950's who served our country in Germany. Thirteen hardy PGR members (three of whom were 1st timers) gathered outside the 1st Lutheran Church to honor Clifford. A nice crowd gathered for the reviewal/social, and stayed for the service. We made great pals with his young Granddaughter who wanted so badly to take each of our pictures, so obviously we let her do it. Both the Aitkin VFW and American Legion had a presence to honor Clifford as well. As interment will be several days from now at Ft Snelling, the local Honor Guards rendered the 21 gun salute and taps. All in all a very big honor for us to be there for one who served his country with pride. The family was most appreciative and invited us for lunch, but as we had another mission down at Camp Ripley we were off leaving them to enjoy each other and their memories.
